YOUR SMALL CONTRIBUTION TO ECOLOGY
- BRINGS GREAT EFFECTS!

The global debate on the production of plastics and emission of greenhouse gases into the environment is gaining momentum. Protection of resources, energy sources, increase in efficiency and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and waste are the most up-to-date and key challenges to responsible policies within sustainable development. Our „MOTHER EARTH” is sending clear warning messages that the development of civilization is taking place at her expense. Population growth, industrialization of Europe, America”Subdue the Earth” – the author’s intention (Old Testament, Genesis) did not mean consent to robbery and destruction, but the development based on harmony, symbiosis, respect for others: which today is called social responsibility.

Each of us, even the smallest member of this complex organism that the civilization is, has, already today,
their contribution to and influence on what will happen to the Earth in 50 years.
PURENA has consciously been supporting the measures to
limit the use of plastic and materials or reduce the consumption of energy.

PACKAGING AND PLASTIC: OUR CONTRIBUTION IN THE GLOBAL BALANCE

Proportional guarantee of access to energy and food for the growing population of the Earth is not possible without technological progress, increased efficiency and exploitation of resources. Our task is to do everything for this progress to be taking place without irreversible consequences and burden on the environment in which it is happening.
Access to food also means, next to the increase in efficiency, packaging, without which its redistribution would be impossible. Purena uses modern, very light and barrier multi-layer packaging, which, despite its being „plastic”, thanks to the form of the packaging (very light Doypack pouch) and the innovative formula of „concentrated juice” is, as a result, the lightest packaging on the market per 1 litre of juice consumed!
An additional feature is the reduction of cost and logistics effects on the environment: delivering 1 kg of concentrated juice over a distance of 500 km in comparison with 1 kg of ready-made juice means 5 times lower CO2 emissions per 1 litre of juice consumed!
dystansie 500 km w stosunku do 1 kg soku gotowego to 5-krotnie mniejsza emisja CO2 do atmosfery na 1 litr skonsumowanego soku!

PURENA reduces the emission of packaging waste.
The use of concentrated PURENA juices, in place od ready-made products in cartons or bottles,
reduces 11 times the consumption of plastic for the same amount of juice.
RESOURCE CONSUMPTION
AND MATERIALS

In order to responsibly manage the resources we have also been trying to minimize their losses. It is for months now that we have been making intensive efforts to reduce production losses of materials and consumables to a level below 5%. This has been achieved with the project of automation and registration of any defects or deficiencies currently implemented.

ENERGY AND ITS CONSUMPTION

Our technology uses electricity in a moderate way. We try to apply such solutions which as far as possible reduce its consumption. We do this through appropriate decisions as to purchases such as the selection of appropriate and adequate energy technologies or even the installation of modern LED lighting.

WATER AND ITS CONSUMPTION

Water is used mainly to carry out pasteurization processes and to wash the plant. Circulation water for pasteurization circulates in a closed system, its losses are minor. The water used to wash the plant is transformed into industrial waste, which, after pretreatment at the on-site waste water treatment station is further directed to the local sewage treatment plant, which recovers the water restoring its full value to the environment.

ATMOSPHERIC EMISSIONS

The production process of concentrated juices, concentrates and beverages is characterized by heat absorption due to the technology of pasteurization. Heat in the form of steam is generated in a modern boiler using LPG. Using one of the cleanest fuels - LPG - we do not use oil or coal, and thus the emission of dust or harmful NOx is minimized.

ORIGIN OF RAW MATERIALS

... is of our concern. All fruits of our climate zone used for the production of concentrated juices such as: apples, cherries, strawberries, plums, black currants and rhubarb come from domestic, Polish orchards. We also know where our oranges or lemons come from, we visit these places regularly once a year inspecting the condition of orchards and the production process.

Both as Consumers and Producers – Market Participants – within the available solutions and options we are obligated to be guided by the best choices limiting emission, waste production or inadequate consumption of the resources: water and energy. It is, after all, the leaders who should search alternatives and technologies minimizing the impact of these aspects on the environment to zero. PURENA is actively involved in this process because the purity of our region – the Polish Jurassic Highland – and the fate of our children and grandchildren, the future generations, are close to our heart.
